Guidelines for use
To maintain good practice, we request that you follow these guidelines when using our licenced data.
- Attribute the source of the data, so that users understand its origin and can refer back if necessary. Attribution should be in the form 'Source: The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, UK'. This should be included directly within the data, with a link to the Fitzwilliam Museum object identifier URI where applicable. Do not attribute in such a way that suggests the Fitzwilliam Museum endorses you or your use of the data.
- Do not misrepresent the data or the Fitzwilliam Museum or use the data to mislead others. Ensure that use of the data does not breach any legislation, particularly that relating to data protection and copyright.
- The data is always subject to update and correction. It is supplied 'as is' and the Fitzwilliam Museum makes no representation or warranty of any kind regarding its use.
- Inform the Fitzwilliam Museum of any use that you make of the data to enable us to make improvements to the content and supply. Please feed back to us any improvements or changes that you make.
Although image files may be referenced some data, they are not made available under the same licence terms as the data.
The images referenced are low resolution (up to a maximum of 1024 pixels in either direction) and are licenced under a
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs licence.
This means that although you are free to download them, they must not be adapted, must not be used for commercial purposes and attribution must be made to the Fitzwilliam Museum.
For any other uses please contact the Museum's Image Library.
This licence applies only to images in which there are no third party rights, and does not apply for example to images of works which are still within copyright.
