Chinese Ding Yao ware dish

An image of Dish. Ding yao ware. The dish is circular with shallow curved sides, standing on a narrow footring. The interior is decorated with a curving spray bearing a lotus flower. The rim is mounted in what may be copper. Oval label printed in black, with a tower and 'Malcolm Collection', inscribed in blue black ink 'D./90'. White stoneware, with an incised decoration under a greyish white glaze. Height 4.8 cm, diameter 22.5 cm, 1000-1127. Northern Song (960-1127). Chinese. Acquisition Credit: Lent to the museum by Helen H. L. Whittow (nee Malcolm).
