The Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal was no exception, as comparison with the later issues of Queen Victoria's reign will show. Conditions of issue also remained the same, to wit, twenty years' continuous service in good standing at the time of discharge from service. This medal was awarded to Chief Stoker James Mitchell, of the torpedo gunboat HMS Jason. Lester Watson acquired it in or around the year 1928.
