These plates were engraved by another artist and were probably added later. The teapot was produced in three sizes. For reproductions of the Catalogue plate, see Wolf Mankowitz, Wedgwood, London, 1953, pl. 30; and Robin Reilly, Wedgwood, London, 1989, II, p. 549, pl. 957. According to Reilly, p. 484, smear glaze was introduced for white stoneware in 1815 and was probably extended at once to cane ware.
