The foot is hexagonal with ogee curves and a decidedly Tuscan moulding. The cup is hexagonal with projections for the chains at the angles, and around the base of it is a foliate design in low relief. The lid is pyramidal in three stages with turrets at the six angles through which the chains pass. In the lower two stages each side is pierced with a four lighted window, the heads of which form interlacing round arches. This Romanesque motif is set under an ogee-headed crocketted gable. The uppermost stage is pierced with trefoils.
