Graphite, watercolour and bodycolour on vellum, height 320 mm, width 214 mm. Album containing 62 botanical drawings on vellum tipped in on the gilt-edged pages of the album which bear the watermark of an 18th century French paper-maker, Malmenayde of Thiers (active from 1731). Bound in red morocco with clasps, the spine tooled in gilt. The Pages are interleaved with thin protective paper. Ruled lines of red and gold border the drawings on all sides. 17th Century. French.
