CONTENTS: On reverse, antiphons for the first two psalms of the first nocturn at Matins for the Feast of the Annunciation, [Benedicta tu in] mulieribus et benedictus [fructus ventris] tui. P. D[omine dominus] noster. Sicut [myrrha electa] odorem dedista suauita[tis sancta dei genetrix]; on the recto, the antiphon and versicle for the last psalm of the first nocturn at Matins for the Feast of the Annunciation, [Ante thorum huius Virginis, frequentate no]bis dulcia cantica drag[matis]. V. Specie tua. Sancta e[t immacula]ta uir[ginitas]; the initial S introduced the responsory to the final lesson of the second nocturne at Matins, Sancta et immaculata. ORNAMENTATION: Ornamental initial in liquid gold and pink on blue and dark pink grounds with coloured vine-scroll infill and acanthus extensions forming partial borders: [S, 2 staves high]. Alternate red or blue initials [height of the gap between staves] with purple or red pen flourishing, using small scallop and trefoil motifs: one initial on reverse.
