The undecorated silver cylindrical sides have a silver-gilt border at the top and an applied moulded rim. The three large silver-gilt claw and ball feet have acanthus leaf capitals. The flat cover is set with a heavily embossed silver plaque depicting two coats-of-arms on oval shields and crests within scrolling foliage mantling. On the plaque above the armorials is the engraved inscription, I(or F)H v Willen . AM Hetling. Round the rim is a silver-gilt embossed border of formal strapwork, leaves and flowers. The plaque is held in place with by a screw attached to the inside with a silver fruit and leaf shaped nut. The hollow D-shaped handle has an applied silver-gilt border of straps and flowers beneath an acanthus leaf. It terminates in two clusters of scrolls, and at the top is a large ovoid thumbpiece embossed with gadroons beneath a border of stiff leaves round a flattened ball. The interior is gilt.
