Title/s: St Francis' vision of Christ saying farewell to his mother Maker/s: Salimbeni, Ventura (draughtsman) [ULAN info: Italian artist, 1567/8-1613] Production Notes: A preliminary study for the painting in the church of San Giorgio, Siena, which appears to be by Salimbeni. In that St Francis is shown with his hands extended to show the stigmata and the Magdalen's head is at a slightly different angle. The pair to the painting, likewise in San Giorgio, shows 'St Clare's vision of Christ being nailed to the Cross'.
