The deep glossy underglaze blue cobalt ground has three circular medallions in reserve, each painted en 'grisaille' in imitation of 16th century Limoges enamels, with 3 winged putti in raised white enamel; the vessel which they carry are gilt, with details picked out of 'grotteschi' in white, with gilt details. The centre of the plate is banded with an anthemion border in gilt. The underglaze blue ground colour extends to the underside of the plate, and the footring is banded in gilt, with chased diagonal hatching.
