Woollen bordered sampler embroidered with coloured silk and wool threads in cross-stitch. There is a double blue line selvedge at the sides and the top and bottom are hemmed. A narrow repeating border pattern surrounds the sampler. The bottom depicts a row of mounds with the Temptation of Adam and Eve. From the bottom left and right continues flowering sprays are worked up both sides and across the top. At the top two winged cherubs hold a crown with an inscription inside it, which reads ' THIS Sampler/Done by me Iane/Iefferis in the Year/of our LORD 1800/Aged 10 years'. The rest of the sampler contains three further inscriptions with several words worn away.
