The pot has a bulbous body with a wide neck and stands on a low convex foot. In the middle of the front there is a curved sucking spout, and on each side, a handle formed of two conjoined rolls of clay with twisted lower terminals and a serpent applied to the outside. The shallow domed cover has a flange round the edge, two similar but smaller handles and a central vase-shaped knob with square perforations round its sides. The body and cover are decorated with Chinese figures in indoor or garden settings. The foot is decorated with a pattern resembling ju-i lapets and there are four further borders of scrolls, criss-crosses, and petals, perhaps intended to resemble small gadroons. The sides of the handle are stripped and there are Chinese scrolls on the front of the spout.
