The pot has a bulbous body with a short sloping neck, an applied tubular spout, and two strap handles which are rounded on the inside and concave on the outside. The domed cover has a narrow flange round the edge, and a mushroom-shaped finial. The front is decorated on either side of the spout with a stout putto holding an arrow standing beside a sponged tree and plants, and with schematic birds and clouds above. On the back there is a central putto between two trees and plants, two flying putti holding arrows, a large insect, and numerous schematic birds and clouds. The neck is encircled by a border of ju-i scrolls with two horizontal lines above and below. The spout has short strokes on the sides, and horizontal strokes interrupted by two circles on the front. The handles have a line down each side, and horizontal stripes interrupted by two ellipses on the back. The cover is decorated with three flying putti, three sponged trees, and plants.
