  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Soft-paste porcelain figure, an actor, possibly David Garrick. Glassy white soft-paste porcelain, slip-cast, and lead-glazed. The actor stands with his left hand on his breast, his right resting on an open book which is supported on a waisted socle moulded with the mask of Tragedy; he is bare-headed, with a cloak flung loosely over his partially unbuttoned jacket and knee breeches. Supported on a rectangular, straight-sided slab base.</value>
