    <value>tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue, turquoise-green, and manganese with Adam and Eve standing on either side of the Tree of Knowledge; two manganese-purple bands round the edge</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Buff earthenware, the front tin-glazed and painted in blue, turquoise-green, and manganese-purple; the reverse also tin-glazed but with large areas of brown due to over-firing. The front is painted with naively-drawn figures of Adam and Eve standing on either side of the Tree of Knowledge in which the devil in the form of a green snake is entwined. On either side there is a green sponged bush and in the foreground horizontal areas of manganese-purple and green. The scene is enclosed by two manganese-purple bands.</value>
