    <value>Maiolica basin for a ewer, painted in blue and brassy-yellow lustre, with a bust of a woman in profile surrounded by panels of scales and foliage divided by rays and buds, and a rod entwined by ribbon</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Pale buff earthenware, tin-glazed overall. Painted in blue and with brassy-yellow lustre. Circular with slightly sloping, narrow rim; wide, shallow well with a space for the ewer in the centre, surrounded by a circular rib and further out by two less pronounced mouldings. (Poole 1995, Shape 71). In the middle, a woman, half-length in profile to left, faces a plant with three flowers, enclosed by a circular rib and a broad lustre band decorated with blue interlace. The sides are divided into six panels by radial lines flanking stems with four buds; three panels are decorated with scale pattern and three with a formal plant. A rod entwined by ribbon encircles the rim. On the back are concentric lustre bands: one close to the centre, two close together, one alone and two more close together. The lustre has run down on one side of the dish.</value>
