Metalwork/Boxes. Miniature casket. Unknown Maker. The rectangular casket stands on four ball feet. It has a hinged lid with central loop handle and keyhole with a hexagonal-headed key. The lock mechanism is attached to its underside by pins. The panel on lid is engraved with a man and a woman, the panels on the sides with fruit and flowers, and the base with a chequer pattern. Gilt copper with engraved decoration, and steel mechanism, height, 3.4 cm, width, 4.3 cm, length, 6.5 cm, circa 1580-1630. Renaissance. German.
