Depicting the five senses: on the top Smell, on the doors Hearing and Sight, on the sides Touch and Taste. On the back Orpheus with his lyre. Inside covered with white silk, polychrome silk embroidery in satin, dot and couching stitches with some silk covered wire. Depicting the elements: on the doors Fire and Air, on the lid Water and Earth. Further pastoral and hunting pictorial scenes inside front, Time with hour glass and scythe in centre of drawers. Silk, polychrome silk embroidery on a wooden base with mirror in lid. Height 23.6 cm, width 27.1 cm, depth 16.5 cm, circa 1650-1674. English.
