Silver sacramental wafer box with sacred monograms

An image of Boxes/Pyx. Church Plate. Sacramental wafer box or reliquary (possibly). Circular with straight sides and slightly domed base and hinged cover. Sacred Monograms are chased on the lid, 'IHS', and the base 'XPS'; both are on a punched scale-work ground and within a chased wavy border. On the opposite side to the hinge is a simple catch of similar form to the hinge with three knuckles. Set at right-angles to the hinge and catch a ring is soldered to the side. Siver-gilt, punched and chased, height 2.6 cm, length 7.6 cm, width 7.2 cm, 1500-1525.
