The exterior has narrow black stripes over broader greyish-black mottled stripes separated by reddish-brown mottled stripes. The interior is decorated similarly with in addition black strokes over the reddish-brown stripes. Thrown red earthenware, coated with terra sigillata slip with inlaid and resist decoration, burnished, bisque-fired, and smoke fired, height, whole, 13.0 cm, diameter, rim, 28.3 cm, 1991. Gift of Nicholas and Judith Goodison through the National Art Collections Fund.
