London: Philip Wilson Publishers: Phil Atrill studied at Edinburgh College of Art, Pilchuck Glass School in the USA and the Royal College of Art, London. From 1996 until 1999 he was hot glass assistant to First Glass in London, the studio run by Bob Crooks and Stewart Hearn (b.1963). He established his independent studio in London in 2001 and received a major Crafts Council Development Award in 2004. He combines producing work to his own design, works to commission and work fabricated to designs by other artists. He has exhibited widely in the UK, Europe and Japan. Phil Atrill: ‘These bottles were part of a series of works developed in response to how light shifts on the horizon in different weather conditions.
