London: Philip Wilson Publishers: Ane Christensen studied Jewellery Design at London Guildhall University and after graduating became a studio assistant to silversmiths Howard Fenn and Alfred Pain in London between 1995 and 1997. She completed an MA at the Royal College of Art, London in 1999 and established her studio in London with the aid of a Crafts Council setting-up grant in 2001. Christensen works with a range of metals, including silver, steel and aluminium to fabricate both functional and decorative domestic objects. Her work is characterized by simple forms which arise from direct working of the metal sheet, making full use of traditional techniques such as hand-raising and piercing. Ane Christensen: ‘The starting point of my work is a strictly economical use of my material.
