London: Philip Wilson Publishers: Michael Eden studied Industrial Design at Leeds Polytechnic before establishing a pottery for functional slipware in Cumbria with his wife Victoria Eden in 1981. Following a successful twenty-five years in the pottery business, Michael Eden became interested in the role of digital tools, following his work developing the pottery’s website. He applied to undertake a research degree at the Royal College of Art, London, exploring digital processes as a means to understanding abstract vessel forms and, in 2008, began making a series of works which combine drawing, 3D software, and digital tools to research and then create forms by selective laser sintering processes. Michael Eden: ‘A different part of my brain came alive in this research: a different way of thinking and problem solving.
