Illuminated manuscript. Cutting. Border fragment from a liturgical book made for Pope Pius V. Bonfratelli, Apollonio de, (Italian, op.1523-1572). Parchment, gold, 131 x 95 mm, circa 1566 to circa 1572. DECORATION: Arms of Pius V with papal keys and tiara within an oval wreath of laurel and ribbon supported by two putti on dark green ground, inscription on plinth under arms: SEDENTI PIO V. PONT. OPP. MAX. ALEXANDRINO MDLXVI MENSE IANVARII.
