Islamic Fritware cup

Fritware (stonepaste) cup. Interior: around the rim a frieze alternating between panels of black cross-hatch design and black semi-circles with red dots and green leaves. In the roundel a flower is painted in red and green. Exterior: on the body lobbed medallions containing stylised floral or vegetal designs are reserved against a blue ground covered with a black dotted fish scale pattern. Fritware wheel made and finely potted painted in blue, yellow, red, green, purple and black under a clear glaze, height, whole, 4.7 cm, width, whole, 7.4 cm, diameter, rim, 7.4 cm, diameter, base, 3.8 cm, weight, whole, 50 g, circa 1700-1750. Ottoman. Islamic pottery. Anatolia, Kutahiya, Kütahya.
