Tile. Unknown Maker. Red earthenware, stamped, inlaid with white clay and lead-glazed. Within a circular medallion, two birds flanking a formal tree. On the back four keys. Height 13.9 cm, width 13.9 cm, depth 2.2 cm, circa 1200-1300. Provenance: Label on back 'a Tile taken out of the/original pavement of Tintern Abbey./1821/I saw not more than two or three/tiles remaining in the Abbey'. English. Medieval.
