Manju. Unknown maker, Japan. There are two halves of this Manju, one is the scene of farmers working with the water mill pumping river water for irrigation of the farm, the other half is the scene of two villagers in a house enjoying tea underneath bamboos and pine trees. These two halves can be screwed tight together. Ivory, carved, 1800-1899.
