The tankard is of tapering cylindrical form with a robust loop handle having a pierced ball at the top. The slightly domed circular cover has a narrow rim with a small a small loop on one side for attachment to the handle, and a flange inside. In the middle of the dome there is a round, waisted knob. The side of the tankard is decorated with a continuous spray of stylized roses, pomegranates and foliage, with below, a wavy scroll border and a horizontal band, and above, three scroll motifs with spots between them and a horizontal band below the rim. The knob on the handle is yellow and there is a wavy vertical yellow line down the back of the handle. The cover is decorated with three daisy-like flowers and three floral sprays, and has a yellow band round the edge. On its underside there is a small floral spray with below, the incised date '1781'.
