The bowl has deep curved sides, which contract into a low foot, and has a circular slightly domed cover with a narrow border, and a flange underneath which fits inside the rim of the bowl. The exterior of the bowl has a band of beading round the upper edge from which are suspended seven semi-circular swags of beading with a pendant flowerhead between each. The beads are touched with either green or brown, and within the semi-circles there are groups of brown dots which have run downwards. The cover is decorated to match, and in the middle has a large knob formed by two pears (or a quince and a pear), on a twig with two green leaves. The glaze has run downwards inside the bowl and has pooled at the bottom.
