Opaque glass vase and cover, decorated with flowers

Image attached to C/G.1 & A-1945

An image of Glass vase and cover. Unknown glassmaker, Staffordshire or London. Ovoid with flat foot, short neck, and a domed cover with a knob. The jar is decorated with flowers, an insect and a butterfly, and the cover with a smaller spray of flowers. Opaque blown white glass, presumed opacified with arsenic, blown, and painted in polychrome enamels, height, whole, 26.4 cm, circa 1760-1765. Notes: It seems likely that the vase was decorated in London or in South Staffordshire, possibly by the painter who signed P.F. or P.P. on water bowl in the Victoria and Albert Museum, dated 1764.
