The upper part had a thin brown wash applied before salt-glazing. Cylindrical, with two pairs of turned bands round the base and one below the rim, and applied loop handle with a longitudinal depression between two ridges. Decorated on the front with an applied inn sign of Queen Ann flanked by standing Beefeaters, with an incised church below, and on either side of the handle, hand-modelled trees, each having an incised head of the future Charles II in the middle. Below, going in a clockwise direction, is a huntsman, and eight hounds chasing a hare.
