Straight sides rise from a semi-spherical base to a slightly smaller irregular rim, with two vertical spaces in one side. Threads have been wound in an uneven pattern around the base, finished with a knot and loose ends, and there are eight stitches to one side. The vessel is black, with wide band of thinly applied white around the middle which shows up the fibrous construction. The series enabled her to explore material qualities, spatial balance, depth of tone and surface
