Sauce boat. W?, silversmith, Ireland, Dublin. The large, deep oval bowl has a gadroon edged border; the sides are embossed and chased with scrolls, leaves, flowers, matted diaperwork, scalework and a vacant cartouche on one side (later decorated). It stands on three cast and chased scroll legs with ornate shell capitals and scroll feet and has a chased leaf-capped triple scroll handle. Silver, height, to top of handle, 15.5 cm, width, from lip to handle, 22.5 cm, weight, overall, 560 g, circa 1750. Rococo.
