Netsuke/katabori. Tomochika (Japanese). Smiling figure of Jurojin, dancing, his right leg raised, his left arm outstretched and on it seated a minogame (a long and tailed turtle believed to be over 1000 years old). His long robe has well-carved folds and is lightly incised with cloud scrolls; finely incised and stained beard and tail and features. Himotoshi in the back of his robe. Ivory, carved and stained, 1800-1868. Edo Period (1615-1868). Japanese.
