  • Milk Jug. Goat and Bee Jug. Chelsea Porcelain Manufactory. The fluted jug is of baluster shape, and stands on a flared foot applied with a wreath of wild strawberries and leaves. The ribbed S-shaped handle has a moulded acanthus leaf terminal at top and bottom. The body is applied with garlands of naturalistically coloured flowers, and is painted with scattered sprays and sprigs, and a butterfly. The rim is banded in brown. Moulded, and with applied decoration, painted in red, yellow, green, and blue enamels, height (whole) 14 cm, length (whole) 10.5 cm, circa 1745-1749. Chelsea, England. Acquisition: given 1941, National Art Collections Fund.
