      <value>"This is the Nature of the Bones: the bones &amp; joints of the / fingers are simple, but the hand &amp; foot are different / &amp; articulated in an other[sic] manner, &amp; cheifly[sic] the upper / part, there is one bone of the heel, as it appears beyond / (the others.) extra apparet[?] to it the posterior tendons are / joined[i] proceed. there are two bones of the leg which unite / above &amp; below, but about the middle they are distant / that is small which is on the outside, something less than / the little finger, it is considerably distant in this part / but rather less distant towards the knee, &amp; a tendon is / produced from it which projects at the ham-string / (i.e. the lower head of the Biceps Femoris) they have below / a common apendix[sic] upon which the foot is moved; above / they have another appendix on which the joint of the Thigh / is simply &amp; expeditiously moved long-ways[ii] the length-way / it's appearance is knotted, bearing the knee-pan. the / Thigh bone is uncurved in front &amp; on the out-side, the head / of it's appendix is round, from which comes the (ligament) nervous / which has pro[iii] it's origin in the acetabulum of the hip-bone / this is connected obliquely, but less so than the arm / but the great vertebra of the (hip) which is next to the / Os sacrum adheres by a cartilaginous &amp; nervous ligament / but the Spine from the Os Sacrum to the great vertebra / (7th of the neck) it is gibbous, for the bladder, the right gut[iv] / parts of generation &amp; the right gut it is partly inclined / in this part, from thence untill it comes to the septum / Transversum (Diaphragm) it becomes a direct, &amp; the muscles / of the Loins exist[v] are in this part, from thence to the great / Vertebrae (the 7) of the neck) which is at the upper part</value>

      <value>of the shoulders the direction is gibbous, it seems more / than it is, for the posterior processes have[i] of the bones / in this part have a[ii] the greatest / projection, the direction of the / joints of the neck are again straightened, the vertebrae / within are equal to each other, on the outside cartilage &amp; / nerves tendons are contained, the coarticulation of them behind is / the part (containing) the spinal marrow from the hinder / part they have an acute rising, which has a cartilaginous / appendix, whence a continuation of tendons are[iii] proceed / downwards, even as the muscles originate from the back / of the head filling the medium or hollow of the spine / &amp; ribs; but the ribs close to the seperations[sic] of the vertebra / are connected by a cartilage (nervo) from the head to / the loins, withinside[iv] on the inside, on the front-part / next to the breast they have their upper part, soft &amp; loose &amp; most bent upwards: in comparison of all animals / this part in man has[v] is very narrow in its qu,[vi] in that part / where the ribs are note (perhaps connected with the breast.bone) / the rise is oblique, short &amp; latus[?] &amp; connected by a ligament / to every vertebra, but the breast (bone) uniting itself to / them has oblique distinctions in that part in which the / ribs are connected but it is loose &amp; cartilaginous; / the Clavicles are round on the interior side, at the breast / they have but little motion but at the top of the shoulder / it is more extensive; the top of the shoulder-(bone) rises / from the scapula, in many (things on persons) dissimilar / the scapula towards the spine is cartilaginous, the rest,[vii] / remaining part (laxa) the unequal part having a / loramen. it's head &amp; acetabulum is cartalaginous / from which the ribs are moved[viii] have motion"</value>
