Studio Ceramics. Stool. Cardew, Michael (British, 1901-1983). Stoneware drum seat of Abuja style. Supported by six ribs only, no central vase as in some examples. Incised chevrons on the ribs. Brown-green glaze with an abstract sgraffito design on the upper surface through to a white slip, presumably zircon. Before 1971. Acquisition: Dr John Shakeshaft Bequest.
