Studio Ceramics. Beaker. Hughes, Edward (British, 1953-2006). Of truncated conical form with wrythen fluting on the exterior. Buff stoneware, thrown, carved with wrythen fluting, and covered with dark brown tenmoku glaze, probably over iron-bearing slip; base unglazed. Height, whole, 8.8 cm, diameter, rim, 8.1 cm, circa 1988-1989. In 1989 Hughes moved his workshop from Renwick to Isel Hall, Cumbria.
