Green blown glass vase, Almeria glasshouse

An image of Vase. Unidentified Almería glasshouse, Spain. The vase stands on a circular, spreading foot, which rises up in the centre into a short hollow stem with a very slight kick inside. The sides of the vase swell gently outwards, and then inwards, before expanding into a wide mouth. Dark green, bubbly glass, blown in two parts (vase and foot), and decorated on the exterior of the body with horizontal trailing, height, goblet, 24.5 cm, diameter, rim, 17.2 cm, diameter, foot, 13.1 cm, circa 1600-1800. 17th or 18th century. Notes: Almería is the capital of the province of the same name in Andalusia, Spain. Sir Ivor and Lady Batchelor Bequest.
