An image of Thomas Jacobsz. Haringh Old Haringh. Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669). Drypoint, engraving, black carbon ink on laid paper, height, plate, 196 mm, width, plate, 149 mm; height, sheet, 197 mm, width, sheet, 151 mm, circa 1655. Production Note: II/II. Notes: The sitter was Concierge of Amsterdam Town Hall, and part of his job was to coordinate sales of debtor's possessions, including the auction of Rembrandt's goods between 1656 to 1658, for which he also acted as the auctioneer. He was also the second cousin of Pieter Haringh, who was also involved in the sale of the artist's possessions and was portrayed by him (see AD.12.39-413 and 23.K.5-360).
