Production Note: II/II. Plate reworked by Baillie. Notes(s): The sitter was Receiver-General, and assisted Rembrandt in gaining payment for paintings he executed for Frederick Henry. He was a cousin of the preacher of the same name, also portrayed by the artist - see AD.12.39-184 and 23.K.5-367. Alternative Number(s): Hollstein (Dutch/Flemish); B281 II/II (Reworked); 1969.
