The face is incomplete and there are sections missing from the proper left side. There are some remnants of paint on the surface. At the top of the face is a large dovetail used to attach the face to the wig. There is a concave recess on the reverse of the face. The border around this recess is coated in a layer of animal glue which contains fibres.
