Korean porcelain stand with floral designs

An image of Stand with floral designs. Unknown pottery, Korea. This large stand is cylindrical and has a hole in the top. The sides are divided into three horizontal zones and decorated with two bands of pierced floral designs reminiscent of Korean latticework, around a wider central pierced band with unusual S-shaped motifs enclosing leaves; above the base are small eye-shaped (ansang) openings. The glaze has a pale bluish tone. The stand has no base and the footring shows remains of coarse sand from the firing support. Porcelain, thrown, carved, pierced and glazed, height, whole, 48.7 cm, diameter, top, 26.3 cm, diameter, foot, 23.5 cm, circa 1800-1900. Choson Dynasty (1392-1910). Production Note: This piece was probably used as a stand for a flowerpot.
