Netsuke: katabori: Group of three tortoises. Doraku, Osaka School, early 19th century, Japan. Group of three tortoises, one large with two smaller ones mounted on its back. Finely carved details, inlaid black eyes and himotoshi on the underside. Ivory, carved and stained, with inlaid decoration, height, whole, 2.7 cm, width, whole, 4.1 cm, circa 1800-1830. Edo Period (1615-1868).
