Netsuke: katabori: Oni seated in a bath tub. Hanayama, Edo Period (1603-1868), Japan. An oni sitting in a bath tub drying his back with a towel. Facial features are wide and the mouth is pulled into a grimace. He has two horns on top of his head, a bald central patch and long hair. Himotoshi on the underside. Wood, carved with inalid decoration, height, whole, 3.5 cm, width, whole, 3.5 cm, circa 1800-1868. Edo Period (1615-1868).
