Netsuke: katabori: Sennin Tekkai. Chogetsu, Edo Period (1603-1868). Figure of Sennin Tekkai as an old beggar holding a staff in his right hand, barefoot and wearing a cloak made of leaves revealing his ribs, blowing his spirit into space through his open mouth. He is seated on a gourd. The details are finely carved and incised. Himotoshi on the underside. Ivory, carved, incised and stained, height, whole, 4.0 cm, width, whole, 3.5 cm, circa 1800-1868. Edo Period (1615-1868).
