Textiles. Tablet sampler. Coventry, Elizabeth (English). The sampler has two tablets containing the 10 commandments, above them a winged cherubs head. To the left stands Moses with a rod and to the right Aaron robed as a high priest. Below each tablet sits a freely designed and worked spray of flowers. Linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, satin and stem stitch, length 125.5 cm, width 80.6 cm, 1727.
