An image of Silver mustard pot. Spilsbury, Francis II, silversmith (English). Unusually large, the cylindrical sides are pierced and engraved with a dog and birds amid scrolling foliage beneath a rope edge border. The almost flat cover is engraved with a border of flowers and foliage. The leaf capped double scroll handle has an openwork shell thumbpiece. There is a blue glass liner, which may be a replacement. Height, to rim, 8.2 cm, width, handle to rim, 12.8 cm, diameter, base, 3⅜, in, weight, without line, 345 g, 1769-1770. Rococo. From: T.146.
