Prometheus chained to the rocks of Caucasus. Tityus punished in hell. Cort, Cornelis, printmaker (Netherlandish, 1533-1578). After Vecellio, Tiziano (Italian, 1489/90-1576). Engraving, 1566. State I/III. Notes: After the painting for Mary of Hungary, executed 1548-49, now in the Prado, Madrid. One of four paintings (two no longer extant), apparently forming a set of sinners tortured in Hades. The print has been historically described as 'Prometheus'.
