Unknown maker, China. T'ao t'ieh mask as a buckle, with a cross-piece at the back for attachment. The mask has horns and ears, with whiskers at the side of the mouth. It has a rough, grey-green patina. Bronze, width 5.4 cm, 700- 600 B.C. Chou dynasty (1122-249 BC).
